Paul Levinsohn has been an attorney since 1995. He has been involved in real estate, private equity, and public service during the past 14 years throughout the New York metropolitan area. He has been an active fundraiser for the Nothing But Nets program which provides mosquito netting to communities in Africa to prevent the spread of malaria. The Nothing But Nets program is part of the United Nations Foundation.

Paul Levinson

Paul Levinsohn is the Managing Partner of the New York City Regional Center (NYCRC.) The NYCRC is an organization formed to help create jobs in high unemployment areas. The NYCRC was recently approved by the Department of Homeland Security to raise and invest foreign capital in real estate development projects throughout Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens and the Bronx.

Throughout his career, Paul has owned, developed and acted as counsel for numerous real estate transactions throughout the New York metro area. In the last 5 years, Paul has acquired and sold over 200 commercial retail properties.

Paul’s experience also extends to private equity transactions. In 2004, Paul and a team of partners privatized one of the northeast’s largest convenience store/gas station chains. In addition, Paul and his team purchased the assets to a New England company that sells nutritional supplements throughout the U.S. to retailers such as The Vitamin Shoppe, Wal-Mart, Walgreens, and CVS.

In addition to business, Mr. Levinsohn has been involved in public service. In 2002, he was appointed Chief Counsel to the Governor of New Jersey where his duties included overseeing a staff of twenty-one attorneys and managing the legal operations for the Governor’s Office. Also, from 1995 to 1997, Paul served as clerk for Judge Anne E. Thompson, US District Court for the District of New Jersey.

Paul also worked in the Teach for America program where he was a charter corps member. Teach for America is a national teacher corps program that places teachers in rural and inner city school districts. During his time with Teach for America, Paul taught American History in a Warren County, North Carolina high school.

Paul studied at Duke University where he earned his undergraduate degree as well as his JD and MA (political science.) While studying at Duke, he served a three-year term on the University Board of Trustees.
